Liquid Leaf Lovin.. and a sneak peak

1.13.2012

The Gilpin sunroom re-vamp is coming along swimmingly. As I mentioned, my BFF is a fearless DIYer. So when she acquired this coffee table, she knew all it needed was a little TLC to make it FAB.

Here.
Okay, okay. So that's not my friend's table... but it is the exact same as the one she inherited from her Grandma. The above table was seen on Centsational Girl and inspired the transformation.

So! Enter Liquid Leaf. Here is what my BFF had to say about the re-do.

So I used Liquid Leaf in gold today on our sunroom coffee table! Talk about a transformation on an already great piece!

The table before.

And after!

It was SO simple. Easier than painting. Seriously. It was very easy and smooth going on and dried pretty fast.  Most of all, it has that look of metal, not paint, which is what is needed to refurbish a piece like this. (I used leftovers on a wood frame and it had the same effect.)

Warning: It's not a latex or acrylic paint and it therefore REALLY hard to get off skin or any other surface! SMELLS LIKE SHARPIE x 1,000. Comes in a few different colors (silver, bronze, etc.)

And after!

It took me about 1 hr, 15 mins total. And did I mention I got the liquid gold from Hob Lob 1/2 off?

Coffee Table from Granny : Free + Liquid Leaf 1/2 off from Hobby Lobby : $3
+ 1 Baby naptime = $3 for one fabulous table in just over an hour!!!

So excited about this transformation! What a beautiful (and sentimental) piece to have in this room!

And here's a little sneak peak of another detail for the room.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

  1. The table looks great! I've been trying to figure out how to repaint a metal piece for a while and I might have to give this a try.
