Thankful Thursdays: my sweet dog

4.05.2012

My sweet angel baby, Daisy, had a big health scare on Tuesday. To say that it was a bad day would be a huge understatement. For those of you that know me personally, you know that I am a crazy animal lover, and Daisy is the apple of my animal loving eye.

So when I had the scare of 'oh my God, what if she doesn't make it?'-- it felt similar to what I think the end of the world might feel like. For those of you who have lost (human) loved ones, you might be quick to call that dramatic. But I don't apologize for loving my animal. She is my best friend, the one who always makes me (and everyone else) smile, the one who snuggles with me at night, makes me feel better after a long day and the one who turned my Hubs into an animal lover- which I view as a huge accomplishment. When she is not around, our family is not complete. I could not imagine my life without her.

To say that I am thankful for her would not saying enough. So today, I am BEYOND thankful that she now appears to be on the mend and back at home with us. For those of you who have furry babies, you know the love that they provide that can't be put into words via a blog post. But just remember to say a prayer to God today thanking Him for loving us enough to give us the gift of dogs. The world would not be nearly as wonderful without them. Also, please pray that my baby continues to get better. It would mean the world.

  1. Emily, we lost Mocha a couple of years ago. Actually the day before I flew to China. To say it was the worst plane ride of all time would be an understatement. I still miss her all the time! I'm glad your sweet girl is getting better!

  8. Oh Emily, I am so glad she's ok! I can completely relate to the feeling. We recently had a little scare with Tate and I was immediately propelled into a place of fear and depression. I don't want to imagine my life without my sweet baby boy. I am so glad Daisy is feeling better! XO
