When I was contacted by a friend to try Rodan+Fields and write about it here on the blog, I was very excited. I had heard about alot about R+F, and was eager to see if it was the real deal when it came to skin care.

Things that made me take note:
1. Do you know anyone who is using R+F? I do, and their skin looks GREAT. There is nothing that will make me want to use a product like being able to see visible results from people I know and trust.

2. R+F was created by the same ladies who created Proactiv. I personally know many people whose skin was completely transformed by Proactiv, so that led me to believe R+F might be able do the same.

3. Learning more about the company totally lent credibility to thinking their products might be the real deal. I am generally wary of products that are sold by direct marketing, but my experience with R+F was not at all similar to experiences I have had in the past.

The process:
I started by taking the Solution Tool to help guide me to the regimen that would best address the issues I have with my skin. I landed on the "Reverse" regimen, which focuses on sun damage, age spots, etc. I've been using the products for about 5 weeks and here is my breakdown:

The Cons:
The steps - the Reverse regimen has 3-4 steps. It takes me about 10 minutes to get through the entire regimen. That is definitely more time than I have given skin care in the past.

The price - these products are more expensive than any skin care I have ever used before. Please take that con with a grain of salt- as all of my 'skincare' up until now has been purchased from drugstores.

The Pros:
It works! That is pretty much the only pro I need.... and it definitely trumps the 'cons' listed above!

After my sample runs out, I will be placing an order. I am so happy with what these products have done for my skin so far. My skin tone has definitely improved, my forehead wrinkles are SO much better and my age spots have lightened. I am just really excited to see how much better it can get from here!

OMM: April 2014

Welp! It's almost May! You know what they say - time flies when you're having fun. And that's pretty true around these parts. Here is a little bit of what was on my mind this last month.

Song - The Hubs got me Gavin DeGraw (so fun, right?!) concert tickets for my birthday, so I've been listening to some old favs. Does it get ANY better than being 17 and listening to the entire 'Chariot' album over and over? Probably not.

Blog - I raved about my Val Pal and her blog, Adorn Yourself Accordingly, before, but she continues to knock it out of the park with every single post. I especially loved this outfit:

TV show - British period-dramas are a fav choice of mine, so naturally I love "Call the Midwife." The series is based on the memoirs of a midwife who worked in London's East End in the 50s. It's really great!

Designer - Lilly Bunn has been on my radar for a while, but I am loving this tour that was shared on House Beautiful recently.

Beauty product - After reading great reviews (and turning 28), I'm giving this a try.

The tanning beds of my youth are catching up with me. Will let you know how it goes.

Instagrammer - I've always said that Tulsa is a great 'house town.' So it was nice to stumble upon @TulsaHomes on Instagram. If you are interested in seeing all the beautiful homes this city has to offer- head on over and check them out!

Obsessing - Over my Wayne Pate print. It's perfect. I think he might be my art soul mate because every single one of his pieces speak to me.

Trips being planned - I said that the Hubs and I were looking at Charleston for our anniv trip, but we instead booked one to the Biltmore in Arizona! Counting down the days to alot of this.....

Just a little round up of what's been on my mind this month! See my post last month explaining this series :)

TV Show: I love me some Jeff Lewis. His show on Bravo is hilarious, but I also think he is a very skilled designer. Often the homes he goes into, the couple or family that lives there cannot agree on just about anything (including design). But I think he does a great job of designing spaces that most everyone can get on board with. And, he really does HELP these people. It's great.

Song: I'm sure you didn't forget that my blog is a no judgment zone? Because the song I have been totally loving this month is "Still Into You" by Paramore. The video isn't awesome, but the song is. The lyrics are just so sweet! And it's catchy... so ya. I'm into it.

Instagrammer: You all just need to follow Humans of New York - @humanofny. Essentially, it's just pictures of people who live in New York, with a short description that is usually super insightful/interesting/funny/sad/beautiful. I really love the idea behind this.

Blog: My best friend/sister - Kacey writes a lovely blog about her home and family life. Recently, she shared a post about her thoughts/cares/concerns/thankfulness during this time in her pregnancy. This post touched my heart SO much. Even though I'm not a mother and can't identify with her emotions, I still think it's a really good read. Oh, and her maternity pics are GORG.

Inspiring Designer: Barrie Benson. Nothing new here, but I have probably looked at this image 12 times over the last month. I just find it super amazing.

Blessing: I've been working with a wonderful friend on giving her house a little zhush up. It's a gorgeous home in one of my favorite Tulsa neighborhoods. And, she and her husband are just super awesome and easy to work with. Has been so much fun so far and a huge blessing. Can't wait to share more - but here is just a teeny snippet of what we have done so far.

Book: Okay, so last month I raved about the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.  And I am super sad to report that the movie was a HUGE let down. I don't know why I still get so upset when I hate the movies that are made on books I love - because it happens more often than not. They messed with the plot line and made it WAY too cheesy. But that doesn't mean I'm not eager to delve into the next book in the series......

Trips being planned: About this time every year, I get reeeeally excited for tailgate season. Notice I didn't say 'football season' because I'm not really into football games. Catching my eye lately

Haven't been blogging as regularly as I usually do. Sorry? IDK. I usually just blog when I feel like it and I haven't really felt like it lately.... AND blogger has been totally ticking me off. My posts don't update to BlogLovin/Reader anymore... Don't know why. Can't figure it out. Ugh.

Anyway!!! I thought today I would just share some things that have been catching my eye lately.....

2013 is the year of the wedding in the Davis household (count is up to 6 so far). And I've been brainstorming about my Bestie's Bachelorette party. Thinking these invitations need to be included. I went to a SUPER fun Bach party last weekend. Loooove me some girl time :)

Do I need this jacket? I think maybe yes.

Super excited to read this book. My girlfriend told me its like Downton... which has has been missing from my life for way too long. I'm on the wait list at the Library. Who knew the Library was cool enough to have a wait list??

 When we move and have the right bedroom, I plan to DIY a headboard like this one.

Football season is starting THIS WEEKEND. I am headed to good ole Stillwater, OK (aka my favorite town in the universe) and have been thinking about game day outfits for quite some time. Liking this look alot for when cooler weather rolls around. Sweater + jest (that's jean plus vest) = super comfy and cute.

Thinking about making this snack. But also thinking eating 20 of them (which I probably would) would make them a little less 'healthy'.

I just really like this pattern combo.

And last but DEFINITELY not least- this post totally moved me. Thankful for Jen's bravery in sharing her story and thankful for a God who provides true freedom.

Country Concert Outfits Pt. 2

This week, I put together one more outfit idea for a summer country concert over at KLAW. Also, I'm bringing the below hairstyle back. It's perfect for the 'I'm growing my bangs out and its really hard to figure out what the heck to do with them at this length and if I don't do something crazy and different I might as well go ahead and cut them' stage.

When you find a pic of an outfit you like online, you don't have to have the EXACT pieces to recreate it. Think about what you have in your closet that keeps the idea the same, because putting your own spin on it makes it more fun. I made this casual outfit that Taylor wore more 'work-ish' by adding a collared shirt. And my green army 'jacket' isn't a jacket at all- I just layered an army green top. Same idea, but I didn't have to run out and buy something new to recreate this look!

And let me be clear- I am NOT a food blogger/chef. But every now and then I will prepare dinner for my husband. I generally don't make anything that has more than 6 ingredients, so when I saw this hummus/chicken pizza I figured I could work it in (because I bought a pre-made whole wheat crust. Sorry I'm not sorry). 5 ingredients and in the oven. Hummus, I added extra virgin olive oil, bell peppers, rotisserie chicken pieces and mozzarella cheese and you can call me Giada.

Hello hello and happy hump day everyone! Here we go with another round of Inspired to Incorporated. AKA what I find on the internet and copy. Judge if you must, but I really suggest you follow suit.

Anyone else been slightly tired of the top knot lately? That may be just me bc I wear one ALL the time. So I switched it up the other day and did a messy low bun similar to Sienna's.

I found Sarah's blog, Workday.Weekend. when we were both featured on Look Linger Love's "Mixed Prints: How They're Wearing It" Challenge, and I have been loving her blog ever since. A super fun outfit she wore recently inspired an outfit of mine.... It was so comfy I felt like I was wearing pajamas!

The photo of me is proof that people should just SMILE in pics. Will def do this next time. PS- should I grow my bangs out?
