Welp! It's almost May! You know what they say - time flies when you're having fun. And that's pretty true around these parts. Here is a little bit of what was on my mind this last month.

Song - The Hubs got me Gavin DeGraw (so fun, right?!) concert tickets for my birthday, so I've been listening to some old favs. Does it get ANY better than being 17 and listening to the entire 'Chariot' album over and over? Probably not.

Blog - I raved about my Val Pal and her blog, Adorn Yourself Accordingly, before, but she continues to knock it out of the park with every single post. I especially loved this outfit:

TV show - British period-dramas are a fav choice of mine, so naturally I love "Call the Midwife." The series is based on the memoirs of a midwife who worked in London's East End in the 50s. It's really great!

Designer - Lilly Bunn has been on my radar for a while, but I am loving this tour that was shared on House Beautiful recently.

Beauty product - After reading great reviews (and turning 28), I'm giving this a try.

The tanning beds of my youth are catching up with me. Will let you know how it goes.

Instagrammer - I've always said that Tulsa is a great 'house town.' So it was nice to stumble upon @TulsaHomes on Instagram. If you are interested in seeing all the beautiful homes this city has to offer- head on over and check them out!

Blessing -We got to spend Easter weekend with my Momma at her farm in western Oklahoma. It was wonderful! Just look at that SWEET Dais face!!

Obsessing - Over my Wayne Pate print. It's perfect. I think he might be my art soul mate because every single one of his pieces speak to me.

Go-to outfit - Not really an entire outfit, but have been wearing these non-stop.

I love them so much I think I might add this pair to my closet as well.

Trips being planned - I said that the Hubs and I were looking at Charleston for our anniv trip, but we instead booked one to the Biltmore in Arizona! Counting down the days to alot of this.....

Haven't done one of these posts in a while and I thought it was due time! Just a little bit of what has been On My Mind last month :)

TV Show: RHONY is back.... Don't worry, I've made great progress on my 'less tv' resolution.... but this series is one I am allowing myself to keep up with. I'm mostly in it for Carole Radziwill's fashion sense. And, let's be real, for the crazy...

Inspiring Designer/Blogger/Instagrammer: She is all three in one! After seeing this image of Paloma's recently updated home, I am chomping at the bit to see what else she has changed.

Beauty Product: Not a product so much as a tip. Have been doing this and loving it!

Blessing: It's a two parter this month! My business is going really well I can't help but feel so blessed by it. I've got great clients, great projects.... it's all great! So happy.

It was also my birthday this month and I loved getting to spend that day with my mom, sister, brother, hubby and BFF. It was truly a fabulous birthday celebration! If the rest of my 28th year is anything like my bday, it's going to be the best one yet!

Accessory: Got these earrings as a bday present from my sweet Hub and I think I've worn them about 15 times since then.

Trips being planned: In May, the Hubs and I will celebrate 5 years of marital bliss! Thinking a weekend getaway to Charleston will be the perfect way to commemorate the occasion.

Routine: It's finally smoothie season again! Once the weather turns a bit warmer, I love a good daily smoothie. My fav is really similar to this.

OMM : oushak

Oushak rugs (aka my favorite rug style ever) are on my mind today. Well, they are OMM lots of days, but I just thought I would write about them today.  These rugs can be incorporated into any design style seamlessly and easily become the show piece of the room. No matter what type of space these rugs are placed in (living, dining, bath)- they are absolutely gorgeous and bring a sense of history, texture and luxury with them.

I'm on the hunt for the perfect oushak for our master bedroom. The one we have in there right now was originally purchased for the family room (until I scored this one) and it's not the right size or feel for what I want our master to be.

BUT- finding an oushak that is the right size, color and price (most notably) is proving to be a challenge....  I just have to remember that patience is a virtue....

OMM: high gloss ceilings

A look that has been on my mind lately is high gloss ceilings. Some might see this choice as a design risk, especially when used with a bright paint color. But I happen to love the effect, and love it the most when white is the chosen color. It just adds a little something extra, without taking over the whole design of a space.

Something about adding a ceiling detail just makes a space seem that much more finished and thought out, don't you agree? I'm thinking white high gloss for my formal living and dining rooms..... we'll see.

OMM: pelmet boxes

Pelmet boxes are on my mind today. I recently approached a client with the idea of using a great pelmet box/curtain combo in her open living and dining space and lucky for me - she loved the idea! And, lucky for them, her husband is going to MAKE THEM.

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times - a handy husband is worth his weight in gold.

Something about pelmet boxes makes a room just feel more finished and intentional. See?
