When eshakti reached out to me to do another product review, I was thrilled! I have worked with them twice in the past, here and here. And I am happy to say that both of the items I reviewed are still on heavy rotation in my closet! Just wore that fabulous jacket the other day :)

This go round, I decided to customize this dress by changing the sleeve length as well as the skirt length.

And I am super happy with how it turned out.

 

The fabric is a great, heavy weight- perfect to stand alone or it definitely works for layering as well.

You know I love me some red, so I am thrilled to have a new little red dress to work into my wardrobe.

 Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I'm off today headed to a place where I can have some fun in the sun.... and maybe an adult bev or two as well :)

We've made it! Just a few more hours until the weekend. I'm headed to Dallas for a girls weekend and am looking forward to some great food, big laughs and catching up with great friends. Hope you have a great weekend planned! Until you can get to it, here are my favs of the internet this week.

- Got the most adorable vase recently - it's a modern take on a run of the mill bud vase. It's perfect for some roses and peony buds from the garden.

- As if my 'house wish list' weren't long enough, I am now adding new stair railing to it because of this Insta snapshot.

- Speaking of house wish lists, the Hubs and I started our kitchen renovation conversation this week. We are still a long way away from this project, but it never hurts to start the planning process early. And I never thought I would consider Ikea cabinets...  but because of this blog post, I just might!

- Have you seen my 'to aspire to' board on Pinterest? It is quickly becoming one of my favs, thanks to images like this. Proof that age can bring not only wisdom, but style as well :)

- I recently picked up some mule heels and have been wearing them nonstop. How do you feel about this style being back en vogue?

OMM: April 2014

Welp! It's almost May! You know what they say - time flies when you're having fun. And that's pretty true around these parts. Here is a little bit of what was on my mind this last month.

Song - The Hubs got me Gavin DeGraw (so fun, right?!) concert tickets for my birthday, so I've been listening to some old favs. Does it get ANY better than being 17 and listening to the entire 'Chariot' album over and over? Probably not.

Blog - I raved about my Val Pal and her blog, Adorn Yourself Accordingly, before, but she continues to knock it out of the park with every single post. I especially loved this outfit:

TV show - British period-dramas are a fav choice of mine, so naturally I love "Call the Midwife." The series is based on the memoirs of a midwife who worked in London's East End in the 50s. It's really great!

Designer - Lilly Bunn has been on my radar for a while, but I am loving this tour that was shared on House Beautiful recently.

Beauty product - After reading great reviews (and turning 28), I'm giving this a try.

The tanning beds of my youth are catching up with me. Will let you know how it goes.

Instagrammer - I've always said that Tulsa is a great 'house town.' So it was nice to stumble upon @TulsaHomes on Instagram. If you are interested in seeing all the beautiful homes this city has to offer- head on over and check them out!

Obsessing - Over my Wayne Pate print. It's perfect. I think he might be my art soul mate because every single one of his pieces speak to me.

Go-to outfit - Not really an entire outfit, but have been wearing these non-stop.

I love them so much I think I might add this pair to my closet as well.

Trips being planned - I said that the Hubs and I were looking at Charleston for our anniv trip, but we instead booked one to the Biltmore in Arizona! Counting down the days to alot of this.....

Just a little round up of what's been on my mind this month! See my post last month explaining this series :)

TV Show: I love me some Jeff Lewis. His show on Bravo is hilarious, but I also think he is a very skilled designer. Often the homes he goes into, the couple or family that lives there cannot agree on just about anything (including design). But I think he does a great job of designing spaces that most everyone can get on board with. And, he really does HELP these people. It's great.

Song: I'm sure you didn't forget that my blog is a no judgment zone? Because the song I have been totally loving this month is "Still Into You" by Paramore. The video isn't awesome, but the song is. The lyrics are just so sweet! And it's catchy... so ya. I'm into it.

Instagrammer: You all just need to follow Humans of New York - @humanofny. Essentially, it's just pictures of people who live in New York, with a short description that is usually super insightful/interesting/funny/sad/beautiful. I really love the idea behind this.

Blog: My best friend/sister - Kacey writes a lovely blog about her home and family life. Recently, she shared a post about her thoughts/cares/concerns/thankfulness during this time in her pregnancy. This post touched my heart SO much. Even though I'm not a mother and can't identify with her emotions, I still think it's a really good read. Oh, and her maternity pics are GORG.

Inspiring Designer: Barrie Benson. Nothing new here, but I have probably looked at this image 12 times over the last month. I just find it super amazing.

Blessing: I've been working with a wonderful friend on giving her house a little zhush up. It's a gorgeous home in one of my favorite Tulsa neighborhoods. And, she and her husband are just super awesome and easy to work with. Has been so much fun so far and a huge blessing. Can't wait to share more - but here is just a teeny snippet of what we have done so far.

Book: Okay, so last month I raved about the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.  And I am super sad to report that the movie was a HUGE let down. I don't know why I still get so upset when I hate the movies that are made on books I love - because it happens more often than not. They messed with the plot line and made it WAY too cheesy. But that doesn't mean I'm not eager to delve into the next book in the series......

Trips being planned: About this time every year, I get reeeeally excited for tailgate season. Notice I didn't say 'football season' because I'm not really into football games. I am, however, into tailgating, seeing college friends and spending time with my family in my hometown. Here is me and the Hubs during football season last year:

Routine: After about a 4 month break, I've gotten back into my yoga ritual. I cannot say enough how amazing and important yoga has been to me.

new favorite necklace

I'm a statement necklace loving gal. The right necklace just really ups the ante of any outfit. So when my fab friend (who just happens to be a S&D stylist) contacted me about wearing a piece here on the blog, I jumped at the chance! And it was pretty easy for me to pick this necklace, because I really felt it could be worn in tons of ways. And I was right:

Okay that was a whoooole lotta me. But, I hope I was able to showcase just how versatile this piece is! I've worn it dressed up, down and lots of ways in between. I absolutely love it and am looking forward to wearing it in the fall and into winter!

OMM: July 2013

Last week Paloma, one of my most favorite bloggers, wrote a post that I just really loved. Essentially, she compiled a list of things that she has been obsessing over during the month of July and shared them! And since imitation is the highest form of flattery, I've decided to do the same here. I'm going to make it a part of the "On My Mind" series - because these are the items that have been on my mind this month:

TV Shows: I know I am late to this party, but I LOVE Ducky Dynasty. It's just good, clean fun/hilariousness. Added bonus- it's one that C and I can actually agree on!

Song: Really loving "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke. Makes me want to groooooove. As does "Beautiful" by Mariah Carey. That lady has STILL got it going on.

Blog:  I am again late to the party, because I just started following Bryn Alexandra. Especially love that she has Oklahoma ties! But she also has really refined taste and is a very talented designer. I've loved seeing the progression of her own home. She chooses things very thoughtfully and takes her time in pulling rooms together. I respect that, as it is so easy to want to get it all done at once.

Inspiring Designer: I've followed Chicago designer Summer Thornton for a while, but a few months back this project was added to her portfolio. I'm still absolutely loving it.

Blessing: Pretty much every day, the Hubs and I talk about how blessed we feel to be back in Tulsa. It's hard for us to put into words, but we just feel better here. It brings an amazing sense of comfort knowing how close so many loved ones are. While St. Louis was an adventure--- we are glad to be back!

 Bag: My incredibly generous sister in law came to visit a few weeks back and got herself a new bag while she was here. Soooooo she left her Speedy for me to borrow for a bit. I definitely don't hate it! Just so you don't get confused, this isn't a picture of me :)

Color: In my own home, I've been sticking to neutrals with pops of red, navy and green. So obviously, this picture makes me happy.

Drink: Moscow Mules are such a yummy, summery drink. And Valkyrie makes a darn good one. Tulsans- take note. Honorable mention- Cupcake's prosecco. 

Book: Ok. As I've said before, the only place I have an addictive personality is books. For months, my bestie has been telling me to get started on the Mortal Instruments series. Well, I'm through the first one and all I have to say is woah. Suuuuuuuuper into it. Read. it.(even though I am slightly embarrassed by the cover.... it's awesome. promise!)

Triumph: Getting my business going has been really rewarding. Anytime I get an email in my business inbox- my heart jumps! I hope to not ever lose that feeling. It's fun. 

Go-To Outfit: Not going to lie, this outfit has kind of been on repeat.......

Accessory: My fabulous friend from Houston happens to be a Stella and Dot stylist, and she was nice enough to send me the Jolie necklace. I have been reaching for it all the time! Outfit posts to come, but I do love it paired with hot pink:

Trips being planned: We are winding down summer wedding season, but are still looking forward to the last one of 2013- my sister's wedding in Guatemala in December! I went last May, but am excited to go back again for this event. I am already getting emo about the whole thing. This is the reception site. Gorgeous, right?
